The richly colored illustrations, sweet story and easy rhyming text are so perfect together. This is a wonderful simple reader for children to begin learning reading as their parents read the prose out loud. Lovely little book!

All kids meed to hear poetry and this short book reminds us that we all are curious as to what strange sounds go on around us. Murphy is awakened by a different noise and he trots off to find it and is surprised to find the Frog Orchestra. Curiosity satisfied, he goes back to bed. Sometimes, the answer is simple. 5/5

One of my favorite kinds of stories, when animals are portrayed to do what humans do, the frogs playing in an orchestra were so cute. I liked the singing crickets and the overall illustrations and colors used in the story. 5/5

This whimsical, beautifully illustrated story explains what's behind the sounds of frogs and crickets we hear during a summer night. No, it is not just the occasional frog or small set of crickets. Instead, it's a full-on frog orchestra with crickets and finches adding to the sounds. This would be a perfect book for any child still caught up in the magic of all that makes up our world and especially for one who may actually be afraid of the sounds they hear at night from frogs and crickets. I remember my sister being afraid of these sounds until my parents explained them to her. 5/5
